Danny Gokey, the third-place finalist on the eighth season of "American Idol," is scheduled to perform at Freedom Fest, taking place this Saturday, July 1, at Downey High School.
The free event is presented by Downey Calvary Chapel. Doors open at 5 pm.
Also scheduled to perform is Grammy nominated country artist Rhett Walker, Christian worship singer Pat Barrett, and singer Austin Carlile.
Gokey rose to national prominence after his appearance on "American Idol," where he advanced to the finals behind Adam Lambert and eventual winner Kris Allen.
Admission to Freedom Fest is free.
