The District at Downey will begin hosting twice monthly Night Markets in Downtown Downey starting Feb. 9, pending approval from the City Council on Jan. 24.
Featuring 40-plus local vendors, the family-friendly Night Markets will also have food trucks, outdoor games, activities, and more. The markets will be pet friendly.
“We’re excited to bring Night Markets to Downtown Downey,” said Hans Fritz, executive director of The District at Downey. “For years residents have been asking for family-friendly events under the stars and we’re excited to finally make it happen. There will be great vendors selling unique craft items and amazing food. I think it will be a very positive addition to Downtown Downey.”
The Night Markets will be held two Thursdays per month from 5-9 pm on Downey Avenue between 2nd and 4th streets. Angel City Market is organizing the Night Markets; they produce events throughout Southern California, including at the Downey Promenade.
